Mid-century charm under towering evergreens — painting that protects and preserves Lake Forest Park's unique character.
Lake Forest Park is one of our favorite communities to work in. Third Place Books at the Town Center is legendary — a huge independent bookstore with a pub and community commons that hosts live music every Friday and Saturday night. The Lake Forest Park Farmers Market runs out of there too and is one of the best in the region. The homes here sit on beautiful, wooded lots under towering evergreens, and many have that classic mid-century character that you just don't see in newer developments. We take extra care prepping around mature landscaping and gardens, because those trees and rhododendrons are as much a part of the home's charm as the paint.
Arclight painted our home and took incredible care around our mature landscaping. The exterior looks beautiful and they used mildew-resistant paint perfect for our shaded lot. Professional and thoughtful crew!

Lake Forest Park, WA
Lake Forest Park's defining characteristic is its towering evergreen canopy. Homes here sit under 80- to 100-foot Douglas firs and western red cedars that keep surfaces shaded and damp year-round. This environment creates the most aggressive mildew and moss conditions in our service area. We use the strongest mildew-resistant primers and coatings available, and we prep these surfaces more thoroughly than typical suburban homes require.
The mid-century homes that define Lake Forest Park — built primarily in the 1950s through 1970s — have unique architectural details that newer homes lack: original wood siding, large picture windows, low-slope rooflines, and integrated planters. Painting these homes requires understanding mid-century proportions and color sensibilities, not just slapping on a modern palette. We help homeowners choose colors that honor their home's era while protecting it for decades.
Lake Forest Park's mature landscaping — established rhododendrons, Japanese maples, and native plantings — is as much a part of the property as the house itself. Our crew uses protective drop cloths, careful ladder placement, and manual staging techniques that avoid damaging root zones and delicate plantings. We've never had a homeowner complain about landscape damage, and we intend to keep it that way.
